What ports need to be open on the server firewall to use NotifySync?
Posted by Adam Palmer on 03 Mar 09 04:16 PM

NotifySync has been written based on the ActiveSync protocol. If you already have users using ActiveSync with your mail server, such as those with Windows Mobile phones, no additional configuration steps should be necessary for NotifySync to work in the same way.

For NotifySync, either port 80 (non secure) or 443 (secure) needs to be open. 443 if SSL is ticked during registration, 80 if it is unticked.

The tool on this page may assist with testing if ActiveSync is available once port configuration has been completed: https://kb.londonweb.net/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/68/0/can-i-verify-that-activesync-is-running-correctly-on-my-server

For server administrators, additional documentation assisting with configuring ActiveSync for a number of supported server types can be found here: https://kb.londonweb.net/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1/0/
